Wait for iiiiiit

 Forward

Yay, I am back, my lappie is working again. So happy! *huggles lappie* But I had to wipe his memory, so he has a new name, Lassoplet. <.< Can anyone guess where the Lass comes from? I told you I like to mash words, this one is three. ^_^ But anyways, I am back. I don't have word yet, cause I forgot my disc, but I can get one from my mom in a few days (Currently with friends to ring in a new year) but I can still write new stuff and now that I have my computer working again, I will start doing WOTDS again. I have been working on Modern Day Reveals, so I have been writing.

But I do have something to post, a bit more edited and more...whats the word, substance to it. I added more to what I originally posted on Christmas eve, and the story goes a bit father too. ^_^ So Enjoy, I hope.

Modern Day Revealed Magic (Was renamed later)

by Nekodra K.D. LaCroix
(I need a better title >.< )

'No fucking way, your a goddamn vampire!' she covered her mouth in shock of her outburst and swearing to a stranger.

She was just walking home from class, happened to glance sideways at movement she caught out of the corner of her eye and there he was, her childhood (adulthood) if you could be a superhero what power would you have, pfft superhero, open that to supernatural creature so I can answer Vampire; standing before her.

Her excitement sort of bubbled and took over, she ended up cursing at the guy, way to make a great first impression, smeghead. I need to lay off so many re-watches of RD.

He smirked, amused, of all people she didn't seem the type who would have paid attention to stories or movies about his kind. He gave her another once over with a smirk hovering on his lips.

She stood, both hands on her mouth, a cross of shock and awe etched over her pale and lightly freckled ruby cheeks. He was not sure if the rosy color was from the winter chill or emotions. Probably both.

Her hair was of a burnt auburn, but in the dark with his eyes he could see the roots growing out, light wispy brown with a hint of orange in the right light. Her eyes. Her eyes stood out with their icy blue, almost crystal, depth. The only thing that could make her eyes anymore beautiful would be the addition of iridescence, or green. He had a thing for green eyes. In her eyes he could see the way she was looking him over in be-withered belief and he couldn't help but note the wide eyed hope.

She was simply dressed, a grey baby doll styled shirt, with an image he couldn't piece tougher due to the black fuzzed scarf that was wrapped loosely around her neck. She wore a black and blue styled hat that was often associated with artists, only with a little more poof, and a few buttons scattered on one side. Which is how he noticed the ankh earring and star one, dangling from her ear. The pants she wore looked like black men's cargos, with the large pockets and a bit of bagginess from the lack of proper size for her frame. She was snug in a nice military styled black coat, with several pockets, it also looked like a men's with the square cut to it. The messenger bag that clung to her shoulders had weight to it, and didn't seem to like to stay where it was because she would fidget and replace it farther up her shoulder. She looks like a college student, so the weight probably came from textbooks.

He chuckled when she realized he was giving her the look over. Her blush deepen and she took a nervous step forward as he spoke, answering her outburst. "What would give you such a silly idea?"

She merely pointed to the partly visible foot the poked out from behind the garbage container that blocked part of that alley way. She coughed, clearing her through before she could speak. "That and the trickle of blood on your lips." pointing to her own to indicate where on his lips it clung.

She was intriguing indeed, "That's absurd" he really did damn this day and age sometimes. What happened to the days were sure people had heard myths of the demons so called Vampires (Or the multitude names over many cultures and languages), but they screamed and ran; but now they didn't run in terror, instead he found damn groupies or people who no longer scared due to over exposure in the movies. While it can make things easy for prey, but often their dull witted blind obsession creeped him out to be honest. Plus they were always so... bland or one demential that obsession drove their life and not only that, but they had it all wrong. He had never met a Vampire who didn't enjoy life to it's fullest, and these (often angst teenagers) harp on about some dribble on lonely path of eternity, forever brooding. Screw that, if I am living forever, I am going to enjoy myself, travel, and have all the time in the world to study varies topics and ologies.

But they were an easy meal, most of them didn't actually want to live forever, but instead were suicidal, and he was sure no one actually missed them.

But this girl, was an oddity. She not only knows what I am, isn't running away screaming, but also isn't throwing herself at me begging to die in my arms.

He licked his lip before speaking again, "It's just a bit of sauce-from dinner." Wasn't a lie.

"Yeah, sauce called blood and dinner consisting of death." She took another step forward, craning her neck to look at the body. "Cause that doesn't suspiciously look like bite marks on her neck, and at least according to crime shows, that unnatural paleness is a sign of massive blood loss, and I don't see any pools of it on the ground." She looked up at him with a look that dared him to explain that. I really need to lay of the crime shows, she thought to herself.

He almost laughed out loud as he noticed her height compared to him now that she was standing right in from of him.

"Well your short." he cringed, what was that? "Your just a child with an over active imagination, Vampires don't exist."

She glared, "I am 23, and there is a kernel of truth to every myth. All around the world, almost every culture has a myth that involves a vampire. Different names, different depictions of what they look like, various 'abilities' and such, but one thing they all agree on is needing the blood of mortals, sometimes animals with do, and living forever, well except one book series, but still several hundred years is quite a feat compared to our maybe 100 at best, but average is what, 80? I don't know for sure, but with as many cultures that have a myth as such, it's more likely that there is is something out there that inspired those myths all across the world, then there not being."

He liked this girl- woman he corrected.

-*-

"What makes you think I would want to a vampire?" she refused to look at him, but instead pretended to read a book. As they sat on a bench in her backyard, well she had been sitting enjoying a pot of Kyoto Cherry tea and reading a book in the cloudless starry night, when Mr. Dracula, she hadn't learned his name yet, appeared from no where and had sat down beside her. Although with the lighter colored hair, he looked more Lestat by Tom cruise, then the Dracula she images, which is the one played by Richard Roxburgh.

"That blush and longing look in your eyes." he gave her a cheeky grin and a wiggle of an eyebrow.

She also needs to stop watching so much Psych, that reminded her too much of Shawn's signature grin, not that she really was complaining, no don't fall for it, he might have the ability to hypnotize, fight it.

"Rubbish." She went back to staring at her kindle, clicking to flip to the next page, pretending she wasn't glancing at him from the corner of her eyes. Peripheral vision, go.

"So what are you reading?" He leaned forward to look over her shoulder, smirking at the title which she had failed to turn of the screen before he saw it.

"None of your business." She stuffed it into her bag, picking up her cup of tea, gently blowing on it before taking a cautious sip, flinching lightly noting it was still to hot and set it back down. Way to forget your pinky test, dumbass.

"That was a Vampire novel."

"Your point?" Pretending a spot on the bench was interesting.

"You completely want to be turned." he smirked again, leaning closer. "You find me attractive, and that scene where he was bitting that girl, you found it erotic." he paused, his lips brushing against her ear. "I can smell it."

She leaped away, "Your creepy, did you know that?" if you annoy him enough, he probably going to kill you, just my luck, well he is probably going to kill you no matter what at this point, you know.

"Okay, yeah I admit, that last bit was unnecessary, but I am still right. You want to become a Vampire." he was amused and throughly enjoying himself. She was fun to tease.

Might as well indulge him a bit, "It may have crossed my mind." she turned away, trying not to blush.

He leaned forward, brushing her hair from her neck, hovering above her neck. "I could." he inhaled deeply, she smelt of citrus and roses, and that intoxicating coppery goodness. "It would be so easy." In a hushed whisper, unsure whither that was to her or himself; and he was having a devil of a time not biting her, he wasn't sure why he didn't just indulge himself. He inhaled deeply again, his fangs itches but didn't release them.

She resisted leaned against him, instead pulling away. "No" she fiddle with her hair, covering her neck once more, but the way her artery pulsed with her beating heart was etched in him mind, but he shook it off.

"Why, you want it?" He just wanted to take her already, but he didn't want to force her, if she was to survive being turned she had to want it, otherwise she would just die. You can't force someone to become a Vampire, the soul had to be willing, the soul has to fight for life, in order to be changed, and even then if they weren't strong willed enough they still died.

"Because I don't know you, for starters and the act is very intamate. secondly what if you are lying, I may have my bad days, but I don't want to die. I have yet to travel overseas and there is still so much to see and learn and what if you just kill me? and third, I have 't questioned you on the details."

He raised an eyebrow, "details?" well, at least he got her to admit it, good step.

"The truth behind the multitudes of myths, what parts are right, what parts are dead wrong, and what are the half truths. I not going to step into such a drastic life altering decision just because I have fantasied about it since I was 4." She wanted to face palm, way to sound like an obsessed freak.

"Since you were 4?" that caught him off guard, she was more of a fangirl then she let on. She maybe a fangirl, but at least she was nothing like those tween Cullen fans. The thought made him cringe at memories. Or a brooding suicidal.

"Yeah, so." she blushed, shifting nervously. Crapcrapcrap, shouldn't have said anything.

"You knew about Vampires when you were four years old? Where did you learn about them?" Now he was even more curious about this girl-woman. Maybe he could 'force' her, if it's something she was been pondering since she was 4 years old, if anyone was guaranteed to surviving being turned, she would probably have the highest percentage. A soul that has craved something so long, would fight the devil to get back to the body that housed such a possibility.

"I don't know, or don't remember, I was four, but I distinctly remember a sleepover at my friends for her birthday and we decided I was a Vampire and she was a werewolf because of the shape of our canines." her eyes glossed in memory, "Ever since that night, I have read and watched everything involving Vampires I could get. They fascinated me and I envied them." Great, now I sound even more like a crazy obsessed freak, no, like a psycho.

"at four?" He couldn't let go of that part, so young.

"Yes."

"Your weird." He chuckled.

"You Mr. That's-just-sauce-from-dinner Vampire, are calling me weird." she laughed, placing her hand on his kneel as she doubled over laughing.

"Well you want me bad and you know it." again, what kind of come back was that?

"I think it's the other way around." She laughed again, and he loved the smile on her face and the way it seems to light her eyes, and he vowed to get her to smile as often as he could. Those who believe all vampires are nothing but cold heartless killers were wrong, sure they killed, like a farmer slaughters a cow to feed his family, to feed himself. But heartless, no, admittedly he may not have been fully sure of that himself until tonight, but he has always enjoyed life, enjoying reading, traveling, experiencing things he never dreamed would exist and would have never know if he hadn't been turned so long ago.

He gave her a mock glare. "Fine, ask." If he answered her questions, then perhaps she would say yes. She wanted to travel, he could actually show her the world, but not just as it is, but he could show her different centuries. She said there was so much more to see, to learn, he could give her eternity to study and he had a feeling, she craved what he could give her more then she let on.

She raised an eyebrow, "Ask what?"

"Your questions for the truth behind the myth." he paused, "you already know I drink blood."

"You have a supersniffer and your eyes glow." she checked them off on her fingers.

"Oops, I usually pay better attention about my eyes. I guess I have been distracted lately." he leaned close, making a move for her neck again, this time in was more joking then last time, he didn't want her to be upset at making the choice before she was ready, for the rest of time. Though in the end, she probably wouldn't be so upset, but he didn't want to take the chance.

She rolled her eyes, and blocked his path with her hand.

"You know that wouldn't really stop me." partly muffled by her hand covering his face before he leaned back, pushing her hand gently down so he could see her face again.

"So super strength too?"

"Yeah, but your so petite I don't need it to over power you." he patted her on the head, "I am still not sure I believe you are over 18. I am worried I've been flirting with a high-schooler."

She smack him on the arm.

"You dare hit a Vampire, are you crazy?!" but he broke into a grin part way through his mock angered speech.

"oh hush, it's not like I could hurt you." she smirked, turning on the bench to face him, getting more excited now, her childhood dream of interviewing a vampire, though being faced with it, it was hard to remember her questions.

"True." he returned her smirk, coping her movement so they were facing each other. He saw her shiver as the breeze picked up and he could smell the rain on the clouds. "It's going to start raining, we should head inside, where you can warm up."

She nodded, picking up her bag and cup of cooling tea, heading for the house and paused turning back around and almost bumping to him, which she would have if he hadn't sidestepped out of the way.

He looked at her questionably and she raised an eyebrow back, her stare demanding the answer to the question she had't asked yet.

"Do you have to be invited in?" She paused a moment, and added before he could answer. "Is it really going to rain, or were you trying to be clever and get invited into my home so you can feast on me whenever you like?"

He chuckled, she was a delight, and clever. "For starters you wouldn't really object to me feeding, be honest." He stepped to stand inches from her, trailing a finger along her neck, and her blush and goose bumps said it all.

She tried to respond, but stumbling over her attempts to deny it, but he cut in an answered the rest of her questions. "Actually yes, I do have to be invited, most of the time. See people have more power then they realize, if they believe their home in safe from 'monsters' then it actually is, even those who may not believe in beings like myself, have a protection on their house because what is it people always feel when they are at home, what's ingrained in your mind?"

"I made it home, I am safe and I can relax because I am at home." She grinned, at the knowledge. "is the cross the same way?"

"Any religious artifact actually, only if someone believe it holds the power to save them. Like I said, people have more power then they realize, witches come from people who realize and understand that. They are few an far between, it takes immense will power to over come what you have been taught, and that's that 'magic' doesn't exist. Also if I get into a house, that doesn't mean I can get into someone's room, or more if I am invited into a house that doesn't mean I am invited into their room, because--"

"When there is a storm, you dive into your room, under your sheets. Since childhood you feel your blanket can save you from anything, from the monsters under your bed."

He wanted to kiss her, she is the only one, in all these years, who he could actually converse with, and didn't go deer in the headlights, granite he didn't normally talk this long with someone other then his kind, and that wasn't often either. Their numbers were low and most were really unsure about turning anyone.

"Exactly." screw it, he leaned forward, brushing his hand behind her neck and pulling her up onto her toes as he leaned down and pressed his lips tentatively to hers, giving her the ability to pull away if she really wanted to.

Merry: Christmas eve or Holidays

(Okay, format has been fixed because my lappie is working again! yay!)

Forward

So my lappie is being a pain, so I will have to make this post from my lovely Ivianna (iPhone, yes I named her.) Vinny laptoplet, my tablet laptop, (get it? laptop-tablet, laptoplet. I love making up words, I am like Shawn ask my Boyfriend of 4 1/2 years, I love slinging made up words or mashed words, two words together. It's fun!) but Vinny has been having big problems lately, I finally fixed it, mere hours after he started this little problem if not being able to get to the internet. I know it's not the internets fault, poor Vinny. Well I haven't been able to self fix it yet, running out of tricks, but I have fixed all his other problems, I will get it done. But obviously not before I wanted to make my christmas post.

So my Ivianna it is, which works, I have two little short snip-it's of a stories that I started on my phone,(wihout Internet to my laptop, I can't transfer) I just have to do some quick minor polishing. Think of these two stories as two prologues that I can't decide between or I will just make them two different stories, we will see. I forgot how powerful watching my top favorite movie which shares that slot with RHPS (Rocky Horror Picture Show), Interview with a Vampire can be with inspiration. Epic casted movie, after watching MI-ghost protocol with my parents, I had to watch Interview again, so I have the last few nights and it had to keep pausing it as it boosted story ideas. So, these two are results from watching Interview, one will be pretty obvious, with references.

But before I go polish the stories really quick, I just want to say to my readers and those who stumble here:

Merry Christmas (eve) or Happy holidays to those who celebrate something else!

I, myself am not religious, as stated in my post: Sci-fi love giddyness, which I will link when I can get on my computer again, the Blogger app doesn't have all the useful buttons like the full website has. I will make italics and bold edits when I can get on the internet with my computer again.

But I celebrate Christmas with my family because that's what they do and I have never seen Christmas as a religious thing, in fact as a child I remember when for class my teacher asked what religion we were, to find out what we celebrated. I became distraught, I felt stupid because I didn't know, at the time I thought the teacher said I had to have a religion to celebrate a holiday with my family, but I didn't have one. But after the teacher asked whither we had a tree or - she didn't get to say anything else because I said tree. I was relieved, I did still get a holiday. I think I thought Christmas was a religion about believing in santa, (young 'Kodra was young) for a little while, but anyways, I technically have never seen Christmas having to do with religion, but as another excuse to spend time with family, have a delicious buffet of food and the added bonus of what used to be mounds of gifts for 8 years before my cousins came along >.> I did and do sometimes have a jealously issues towards my younger smarter and more confident cousins, who get all the attention because I am 8 years older then the first one that came along after me. In fact he just turned 16 and has a nice car and a drivers license... I am out a job, no car because I lack the confidence and fearlessness to drive... *sigh* anyways it's the holidays! So no mood dampeners.

Here are the two, yes two! Short stories like I said prologues I need to pick between before I expand the story farther. They are also currently sorta untitled because I am not sure yet where I want to go with them yet, they have tempt titles.

Story two: possible title: Baffled (not likely to stick)
-----

(notes: this is probably, pg13? There is some.. Not completely adult, nothing really described, or more, hmmm. There is heavy petting, I think is the best why to describe it and it's only like short two paragraphs)
-

This wasn't something she would normally do, go home with some stranger she met at dinner. That wasn't her, but she would never regret that night.

She giggled, a little tipsy from the two rum shots and a large hot buttered rum, enough to know what she was doing, but blushed and easily influenced.

His eyes, that's what really drew her in, that's what called to her, what made her walk up to him at the bar in the restaurant after her dinner alone, having kicked her blind date to the curb not long after he arrived. She had no idea why she had let her friend talk her into that and oh, was she going to get an ear full tomorrow.

But there he was, hair light orange and pulled back into a low long pony tale, reminded her of Lestat as played by Tom Cruise, and maybe that was the reason in her buzzed state that made her want to talk to him. He screamed vampire, he looked like Lestat and her light alcohol dazed demand at least a good snog from Lestat in a three piece suit.

He watched her watch him, as she downed another rum shot, she made her way to him. He eyed her up and down, short deep red hair, dyed, and brilliant icy eyes. In a simple grey shirt, black scarf and a good winter military styled jacket. The tint of rose on her pale freckled cheeks was cute, but what really made her adorable was her height of 5ft. But she was clearly of age, by the shot she downed.

Taking one sip of his wine, he gave her his best sheepish grin and set the glass on the counter, giving her his full attention as she slid onto the bar stool beside him. Tonight's meal came to him, and he wasn't going to argue with his luck. Though it was a shame, she was beautiful almost didn't want to let that beauty go. You could preserve it, but no, like everyone else he had turned for company, all killed themselves, his attempt to preserve her beauty wouldn't last long.

"Hello" he greeted, brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear, with a light touch and he could see the way she shivered in wanting.

"Hello, I am Natalie." she grinned shyly and looked away, ordering another rum shot from the bartender.

"Nicholas."

"I-" she stammered, and looked down at her shot, pausing for only a moment before she downed it for courage. "To be honest, I don't know what to say." she set the glass down, it disappeared in moments as the bartender walked by. "Your Hansom, and I want to kiss you." she covered her mouth, shocked at herself, blurting out before he could respond. "I am sorry." she laughed at herself. "I think it's obvious now that I don't try and pick up guys very often." she shook her head at herself. "I didn't even attempt a cheesy pick up line, couldn't even think of one."

He chuckled, taking a sip from his wine and letting her babble for a minute before setting his glass down and sliding off the bar stool, holding his hand out to her. "It's perfect, you saved me from using a bad pick up line on you."

She took his hand and slid off her stool.

He leaned down near her ear, his breath tickling it. "I would have to agree, I would love a kiss from one so beautiful, but I prefer somewhere more private for that."

Her voice caught in her throat, and she nodded. Beautiful?

-

She sat down on the couch, and in a moment he was on top of her, one knee between her legs. One hand exploring her neck and then down to her chest, the other planted on the back of the couch for support.

She feverishly kissed back, her hands in his hair pulling him close. I am snogging Lestat how sexy is this, was really the last coherent thought she had.

He kissed his way down her jawline and to her neck, while his hand traveled down her pants and into them, bypassing the panties.

She moaned the moment he nipped her neck, but didn't break skin. "Please-" she attempted to speak, but his hands were rather distracting, and he moved to kiss her again. After a moment she broke the kiss, "Please, bite me again."

Oh, she liked being bitten, then he will deepen his bite, if a meal was going to beg like that, that how can a Vampire feel guiltily when she asks for it. He smirked down at her, eyes aglow and teeth sharpened. He didn't see the look of shock that quickly became lust before he turned to focus on her neck again, sinking his fangs into her neck.

"oh-oh gods" she cried as his fangs broke skin and she could feel him drinking. She tried to form a coherent thought, struggling, and too busy moaning.

His grip on her tightened as he drank deeply, grinding against her. He had never had anyone moan like this while feeding, it was a pleasant ego boost, then she said something and that made him stop before he killed her.

"Gods-" she moaned, trying to hold it back by bitting her lip, her grip loosened as she grew weaker from the loss of blood, but determined to hold him close. "I was right, your Lestat-" she leaned her head against his, refusing to release any way she could continue touching him, rubbing her cheek against his. "The Vampire Lestat." at those words he pulled away and she whimpered, "You stopped." her eyes were fogged and she placed her hands on his cheeks. Pulling him into another kiss and she could taste her own blood on his lips.

He was too shocked to pulled away at first, but after gathering his thoughts he broke away, looking down at her confused. "Your not screaming, you not scared." he tried to pull away, but she clung tightly with a rapidly weakening grip and though he could easily break it, he didn't want to hurt her. "Do you wish to die ?" though he realized the cruelness of the question, he had already taken too much, she was going to die.

She took a few breathes, it was hard to find the strength to breath. "Gods no." she paused, dragging up any strength she could find. "I am only 23, I haven't traveled the world yet, I haven't finished my books, I haven't studied enough, there is so much left to read." A tear slipped down her cheeks, and she placed her hand into his hair at the base on is neck, with a weak tug to say she wanted another kiss.

He didn't know what to say, she didn't have long, he indulged her wish and gave her a gentle kiss before pulling back.

She looked up at him as she began to shiver, "But I am dying in my ideal way, that I never thought would happen." she smiled at him, a true smile.

"Your dream death is by a Vampire?" he had met so called vampire obsessed freaks, but she didn't fit the typical profile, and most had it all wrong and he didn't feel one bit of guilt by just killing them.

She nodded, "Not that I want to die, but I can't expect a random vampire to-" she couldn't speak anymore, the loss of blood was too great, her eyes slid shut, all she could do was breath, but that was rapidly declining.

"you-" he didn't know how to respond. He had wanted, no had turned people before and they either gave him a no, or those who said yes, didn't understand and later killed themselves. "Do you want to join me?" he could hear her heart giving out, she was just about out of time, and at first he thought she was too far gone to hear him, then he saw her nod.

Page of other Short Stories-----

So what do you think? Which did you enjoy more? Or should I finish them both?

I am personally enjoy the first story more, the second was a inspired by the more lusty side of my obsession, the first is from my more logical and I really hopefully side of not wanting to be lumped with the typical Vampire fans, let alone the twilight fans. Vampire's shouldn't sparkle!

So the second might just stay a one shot, the first will at least have a lot more written at the very least. So now I have a erotic Vampire story (though I will have to add more adult-ness to it for fully get that theme) and a more comedy styled romance Vampire story added to my growing list of being determined to have all sorts of Vampire genre stories. Read 2012 incarnation inspiration post to understand that more.

But anyways. ^_^ two short stories prologues as a Christmas (holiday) present to my readers! I know they aren't Christmas themed, I hope you can forgive that. ^_^;

Like I said, I will edit this post when my
Computer can use internet again. So please excuse the lack of decent format.

So Merry Christmas and Happy holidays my dear readers! I hope you enjoyed your gifts!

-Also if you have never seen Red Dwarf it’s a great British Sci-fi comedy, and a new season after many years will air September 2012 for Red Dwarf X. So excited they are currently filming, can’t wait!

2012 Incarnation Inspiration

Forward

Yay, for new found inspiration and hopefully what is a realistic new years goal set in mind.

First I want to say hello, to the two followers I gained the other day! I am glad you appeared to like my blog enough to follow and I hope you won't be too shy and perhaps comment ^_~

So reading a few other fellow writer's blog, apparently you can self publish ebooks somehow, so I will have to research into that. But I don't have anything polished enough to even consider it right now, so that is just a tidbit that I will file away for when I do have something ready. This makes me excited! One because I have been worried that I would have to make drastic changes to my stories to please said publisher or that no publisher would want to pick up any of my stories. But now, somehow I can bypass that, wOOt! Makes me want to work on my novels more. So even though its not quite new years, but it damn near close enough, I have made my new years resolution and I have already started it with new found inspiration and vigor.

I have currently 7 novels/novellas (the end resulting length for these stories are unknown right now) though 2 of those I want to become a series, 1 for sure is, that is Dreaming Reality. That story has been bouncing around in my head for the past 8 years, there is so much to this idea it has to be a series. No ifs, ands, or buts. Dreaming Reality will be a series, a rather long series, most-likely. I don't expect to finish that one anytime soon, but using WOTDS I am at least working on it piece by piece, and so long as something is being written for it, then that is all that matters right now. Dreaming Reality is my precious baby, and I don't care how long it takes, I would almost be fine if I never truly finish it, and its merely published because I died and I am not there to say, but its not ready yet! And it's some epic long series that's expansive like the Britannica reference book series...thingy...>.>...that I recall schools always having in the library, and I think that's what is called......heh..

Then I have what is currently dubbed as Of the Deep End, which is my hand at a Vampire crime series. Hey, two of my top favorite shows are Forever Knight and Psych; Though Castle is likely to make it to that list, but its too early in my viewing to make that decision yet. I also watch shows like NCIS, CSI, Monk, Bones on occasion when I catch them on tv. I kind of want to try my own hand at a crime story, with hopefully a twist that hasn't been taken with Vampires as a cop, referring to Forever Knight with that, she, the main character of this story, is NOTHING like Nicholas Knight. lol, so far from it, that it makes me laugh. I will admit it was a bit inspired by Dexter, which I sadly have only seen the first season, I need to watch more. Only slightly, just a small concept, but the story itself and everything will be nothing like Dexter. I want to be unique, I may get inspired by other things, but I will do my damnedest to spin it enough to be unique and not upset anyone.

I really hope to be known as a Vampire writer who has a good variety when it comes to my Vampires and my stories with them. I don't know if I want to be locked down as say a horror writer or a Romance novelist as just an example, I want to bounce around. I will always likely be categorized in the Sci-fi/Fantasy genre, that is sort of a given, but I want there to be enough..Spice.. to my stories that bookstores will have trouble finding the right section to place my books, or more my books will never been found next to each other. I mean, currently on my 'plate' so to say I have the workings of:

-Dreaming Reality which I am no sure what to describe it, its a...adventuring/travel story, probably more a time travel/dimension hoping story the more I think about it, with growth and self discovery, and the main character is a Vampire. Its about discovering the life she led, as Natalie was never suppose to be her life, which doesn't really phase her, she is too enthralled by traveling to other worlds and she is entangled with a dimension jellyfish named Estarial and through her is how she can travel to all these other worlds and discovered this other body that has been in a coma because its soul was ripped out and placed in body on earth.

-Of the Deep End which is a Vampire crime series. About a Vampire who works as a corner for the local police station, and through knowing what all the police look for when finding a killer, she is easily able to cover up after herself when she kills a mortal to feed. In this modern day and age, how else can a Vampire kill to live without being discovered?

-To Hell With It which is more on the fantasy magical side of Vampires, and will involve witchcraft, demons, set in a more medieval time/world-ish place. Or what I hope sounds medieval, I should probably do some more research on that. Which here is a link to the post where I posted the beginning of this story, tell me what you think so far? To Hell With It (sample)

-The Spying Moon which I admit, is inspired by the relationship of father and son between Shawn and Henry Spencer. Though just inspired, I don't have the whole idea worked out yet, but I will make a point to not rip of Psych, believe me. I don't want to make a copy of something, I want to be unique. But I just love the relationship between Henry and Shawn and it makes me want to write a story like that. So I got the idea for a son who was turned into a Vampire and is ashamed, tends to run away from his problems (similar to what Shawn did after high school), and really he just wants his fathers approval. Its guess its a typical situation of a child desperate for a parents approval, but with a Vampire toss in because that's what I write, Vampires.

-Immortal River which is about a Vampire couple who are centuries old and the shift from the 'good old days' where they could kill freely, and moves to a modern time, where there are laws set and Vampires went through a time when they 'came into the light' so to say, and where discriminated against. Then laws are placed, a truce is made, to protect both Vampires and mortals. Also likely to go in to the future, with a more Sci-fi feel.

-Eulogy of a Mortal Life which currently is far back on the back burner, the ideas are there, they are typed a bit, but its not....I have no desire to work on it right now, there is no inspiration or liking of the story right now, but that could change at anytime. But anyways its about a guy who moves far away from home, leaving his past behind him, to forget, and wanting to get away to a start fresh, a new beginning, and boy does he get a 'new beginning'.

-Floating Balvolynn Petals which is more on the darker side, way darker side. This is a Horror Vampire story, this is a story where I am letting my Mr. Horror side out without a leash, what I think of is written, no self censoring because its risky and it won't be for the shy faint of hearts.

-The Dreams we Weave Which I almost forgot about mostly because while its the story I have the most written on, its actually behind a lot. See it started out as just a fanfiction, a personal one for the hell of it, but now I have 40 pages, typed times new roman, single spaced, its over 20,000 words and I have become insanely attached to it, I already have the bare bones plot ideas for book 2 and 3. So while I have a lot written, I need to see if I can tweak it around so that its no longer a fanfiction. Which I hope I can do, but not sure if its possible. It just wouldn't have the same depth anymore, so I don't know if I will even try. I might just, take the plot ideas from it and write a completely different story. Who knows, its also on the far back burner.

Then I have miscellaneous little one shots, that I could expand on, but I am not working on them at this time, so those, The Dreams we Weave, and Eulogy of a Mortal Life, are not my real focus right now. I mean those little one shots, I just haven't look at in a while, which I do plan to set aside some time and glance back at those, they just don't have titles or enough to the story to summarize and explain at this point in time. Plus I have already talked enough with 8 stories, which please no one take...>.< I wanted to summarize them and get a little feedback on if they sound interesting, I know thats a risk, with posting stuff on the internet. Which is why I tried to keep the summary simple enough so that if someone tries to write a story based on the summary, it can't be the same, but enough info so you can get an idea of what its about.

I mean, that seems like a wide range of subcategory's to me, and I hope to keep up that bouncing around from topic it topic, so to say, with the 'spice' of Vampire's tossed into many categories.

My New Years Goals:
_____________________________________

  • Take one of the following stories, Off the Deep End, To Hell with It, The Spying Moon, Immortal River, and Floating Balvolynn Petals; to completion. Insert any new story ideas that may crop up over the year. Just so long as I have something completed enough to seek an editor.
  • Continue to work on Dreaming Reality, like with the WOTDS.
  • Write, work on one of these stories every day. Doesn't matter how little, how much, just that each day I have done something with these stories. Be it notes from research, a few notes on an idea for a chapter, or pages of words. Just Write!
(off the topic of writing goals)
  • My usual annual goal for the past 4 years, be more confident and let go of the negative, relax! Take the time to meditate and calm myself (and the secret goal that goes along with this)
  • I should also eat more healthy and take better care of myself, health wise >.>;;;

Well, I think I have yammered to you guys enough for today. The short story for today is the summaries to the novels/novellas I am working on. Its too early in the day to know if I will do today's WOTDS, I am working on some of my novels, so its not like yesterday were I didn't write anything, but if I do end up wanting to post today's WOTDS. I will just post two in my next update. ^_^ Sound fair?

Those side notes and then I am off to work more on my novels:

Kala (Hawiian)- to forgive
Culpa (Latin)- Fault, Blame
Szczuply (Polish)- Slim

Intai (Japanese)- retire

Lucent Trip of Light

She bolted down the slim alley way her large cloak fluttered out behind her as she dodged the empty cardboard boxes, broken wooden crates, and things she didn’t want to dwell on what it could be. She looked to the lucent object in her right hand briefly before looking forward again, raking her brain for any way to get rid of her pursuer. Plus she just didn’t want to think about the puddles she occasionally couldn’t avoid in this broken down and grotesque city, reminding her of the one time she had traveled to Geneva back in her other body.
Her eyes widened at a solution struck her, and she wanted to face palm at being so daft, but she had to concentrate while not tripping over anything. Using the cover her cloak gave her, she tucked the lucent object safely into her bag that was strapped to her hip, and then held out her hands, palms up in front of her, focusing as best she could while weaving to avoid objects.
What appeared to be a small black blob appeared in her handa, which shifted, formed, into a small version of herself, large black cloak included, thank goodness for the chill of late fall nearly winter, that made her wear it tonight, it certainly will help with this subterfuge. Once she had that down as best she could get, she focused on the small copy of the lucent object, placing it in the same hand she had held it in, giving it the same glow. Then, the simple task for the copy of herself which while looking very similar, it was actually a plush version of herself easier to create while running, then something that looked more detailed and fleshy. Also when the guy caught up with it, she could image the look of frustration on his face. She gave it a simple AI, one simple task, just run, avoid objects, and try to avoid a dead end for as long as possible, just run. Focusing, she gave it energy, a battery so to say, to keep it going, to run.
Run at least till it ran out of said energy and collapse, which hopefully will be long enough for her to be long gone by the time it was discovered to be a fake.
She stole a quick glance behind herself, he was a ways back, but she would need more distance to be sure it worked. Taking a deep breath and summoning what little energy she had left, she exhaled and broke into a burst of a sprint, spying the perfect spot up ahead, and if she could get enough distance between her and him by the time she reached it, that is should be seamless.
She faked a trip, stumbling off to the side, behind a large garbage container, which completely hid her from view. She dropped the copy of herself, which grew to match her size by the time its black booted feet hit the ground. It blinked a few times, looking dazed, mindless.
“Run!” Nekodra hissed to her copy, pointing to the original direction she had been heading, it darted out from behind the container they had ‘tripped’ behind, stumbling a moment before adjusting to itself and continued on without a problem. Nekodra watched it for a moment, relieved that from behind with the length of the cloak and the boots and pants she had been wearing, there was no difference in how they looked from behind, and it certainly didn’t look like a plushie. The front was a different story, but that doesn’t matter right now.
Taking a short, calming breath, she looked to the left, down the alley way the container almost blocked from view. “Oh, Sweet love, thank you luck.” She muttered to herself, pushing off the container to dart up a nearby latter, her dark cloak blending into the surrounding shadows. The lights for this alley way looked like they had broken long ago and even she couldn’t see if they alley dead ended or continued on.
She was most of the way up, when she heard his foot steps, she paused leaning her head down and crouching so her cloak covered her entire body, and held her breath. Steeling herself for the possibility of being discovered, coming up with a few plan B’s, one of which  included a host of copies to ambush him to the ground while she ran off, another included lighting the box below the latter on fire to keep him from pursuing her up the later.
Her heart almost stopped, when she heard him pause, his breathing was heavy and she could hear his wheezing from her spot on the later.
“Damn bitch.” He muttered before darting off again after her copy.
Once his foot steps had faded, she let herself release her breath, slowly, nervously.
“I forgive your harsh words and I don’t blame you.” She snickered, “I just thank the Gods you are a daft moron.” She chuckled quietly as she made her way up the latter. “And yay for being short and for large garbage containers that make good cover.” Her heart still racing, but was winding down as she reached the roof of the building, and laid down on her back for a moment, while the adrenaline wore off.
She giggled again, “That was fun, what a rush.”
After a few minutes she sat up, realizing she shouldn’t stay here long, once he caught up to the copy and realized it was a trick, he would come back to the one place he lost sight of her for a moment, in search for a sign of what direction she went and would good would the copy have done if he found her here.
Standing up and brushing the weirdly texture dirt off herself, she looked around deciding to head off following the alley she had hidden in, trying to avoid slipping on the ice that clung to the roof tops. She was completely worn out and ready to get home and retire for the night, perhaps after a nice warm bubble bath, then bed. She padded the bag at her side, overly cautious in making sure it was still there, before jumping down, landing soft and gracefully down a dead ended alley way, that lead away from where she had come from and where her copy was head, thanking the gods this town was a mass of mazes.

Afterword
I don't really have much to say at the moment, I know what a shock. No new Psych episode to yammer about, I finished re-watching Red Dwarf and the new season isn't till September. I am re-watching Couplings as I work on this, but after I post this, I am going to take a break and re-watch some Firefly. Oh yeah, I still need to catch up and watch Castle, I am only half way through the first season. I believe in January is when the second half of season 4 will start, I will have to check that.
As for todays WOTDS, I don't know if that will be cannon or not, it certainly was fun to write. Don't ask, I have not idea what object is and why Nekodra is stealing it. It was just an amusing idea that fit for the words for today.
As for the title, *shrug* seemed amusing and worked for the subject of the story, kinda. lol, just want sort of popped into my head when I looked up and saw I had yet to title this post, thinking what should I name it, and pop there was a title.
Okay, like I said, I can't really think of anything to say. I am going to go watch Firefly now and play Angry Birds seasons, which I have completely mastered this years advent calendar so far, three stars on the 20 unlocked levels, and all the feathers. But its fun to go through and see if I can beat my own scores. ^_^

Night Readers!

Beyond the Stars excited

So excited about new Red Dwarf! <3

I just read this wonderful article from someone who was at the first shooting for Red Dwarf X and as excited for the airing of the new season it made me. I have to say what pleasantly caught me off guard and super ecstatic was that there is planned already for another season! "This isn't just a one off return season for a last huraah, it's what hoping to be a kick off to another run!!" -that was more or least a quote from the article, then my own words, though I am not sure if I quoted it exact of not, so I just want to state that, but that is my excited tone behind the words.

All I have else to say is, I beg of you, as tempting as it maybe to spoil and as curious I am to hear about each episode, for those who are so lucky enough to be at a shooting, don't you dare, dare breath one toe out of line about the show, because if there are spoilers you will ruin the chance of there being another season. *grins* Threat aside now, I wish I was able to go to a shooting, but alas I am jobless and in America...even if I had won a ticket through the twitter contests, which would be very unlikely, I would have no way of getting to the studios. I don't know where it's shooting, I just assume England somewhere. ^_^;;

Here is a Link to this wondrous article, that is completely spoiler free, while delightfully making you long for it to be September 2012 already, I will say as I often will say when feeling inpatient about an upcoming event; where is the TARDIS when you need one?! After a quick snog with 10th Doctor, I would want to make stops for the rest of Psych season 6, but first I want to skip ahead, watch the fist episode for Red Dwarf X, then make a U-turn for the second half if Psych season 6, pop back for the second episode of Red Dwarf, followed by the promised Musical episode for the opening of Psych season 7. There are too many things I am looking forward to and they are almost a year away! I don't know how I will handle the wait, not only that, but the second half of Psych season 6 is over two months away, and two month feels too long, so how will I manage the 9 months till September?

That aside, I hope you didn't miss me too much the last few days. At least it feels like several days *Checks date for last post* Yup, several days....my sleep schedule is horribly wonky, but I may have fixed it, but I only woke up at 7am this morning because of horrible back pain...I need to find some pain relief, this bath isn't helping much, a little but not enough, now that the shock distracting excitement has worn down, I am now feeling the pain again.

Also I just wasn't in a talkative mood. I did work a little on "To Hell with it" and I did write a WOTDS (Words of the Day Stories) yesterday, but it was off, didn't include Nekodra or Vampires and I just didn't find it suitable to post. I have all day, so I will go find those pain relievers, maybe go back to sleep for a little while, then I will poke at seeing about writing today's WOTDS and working some more on "To Hell with it" though honestly I am feel the urge to work on "The Dreams we Weave", which is on of the novels I am working on. But at the same time I have been working on it in my head, and it wants to re-write several things and take a different turn the I have it currently going, so at the same time, I am a little peeved at it. So we will see where inspiration takes me today, but I will at least attempt a suitable WOTDS to post.

So while you begin reading the rest immediately, there is actually likely to be a hefty break here. I will insert the hours number for amusement later when I come back to this. It could be many, because I might be heading home for the holidays tonight, but it could be tomorrow. Anyways, to the mid-post break:
.............9 hrs and 40 minutes later, after a good nap from 9am to 1:30pm, and not heading home yet, that will be tomorrow, I am back with today's WOTDS and working on edits and the Afterword for this post. Enjoy.

Ethereal- Of or relating to the heaven: heavenly. Being light and airy: delicate.

Souchou (Japanese)- Early morning

Deer, Deer, oh Dear
by Nekodra K.D. LaCroix

Alright, a simple lesson, a simple little new exercise for myself. Nekodra looked around the tall grass and bushes placed nearby, in search for any movement, for the ectype of a deer she had made, only it was about the size of a bunny and it was really a plushie and not an actual flesh and blood deer, but it was given enough energy and a sort of AI to move around and ability to pretend eat the tall grass, essentially acting very deer like, but super fuzzy and blue button eyes.
She was giving herself a lesson in hunting there were also a few bunnies wondering the tall grass, but it’s the deer she needs to find and if she ends up spilling the fluff of a bunny then she failed.
Vertias be told, it was a boring day on this extremely early morning, having had woken up at this ungodly hour of 8 am and was unable to fall back asleep, and she realized she is always practicing her ability to control fire and as much as she enjoys it, and loves it, there was no real chance of failure anymore, currently she had no challenges when it comes to the practice of it. Without any new exercise ideas, she has reached max level with her fire element, and while it’s good to practice to keep said max level, she wanted something challenging today, so here she is, pretending to hunt a plush deer.
She created an enclosed area of a box shaped ceiling-less dome, with the insides of overgrown grass, large bushes, and a tree or three, scattered about. The grass came up to her hips, making it about 2 feet tall, some patched were shorter and there were some patches only an inch or two tall. The bushes were a dark green in comparison to the grass, with mistletoe like leaves because with it being the holiday season its was easier to copy something on the tip of her mind which happened to first be mistletoe, only it had long oval royal purple colored berries with a maroon spiral up it like a candy cane, again it’s the holiday season. The berries tasted like black cherry warheads (the candy, which sadly is hard to find now a days).
Nekodra likes to amuse herself with creating odd looking berries that taste like something else, plus it was good practice for her Eec ability (Energy Ectype copying, yes its redundant, and that what amuses her, its also a self given title to her ability of being a human copy-machine, which she pronounces eek.) it is good practice to splice two different things together, the texture of a juicy berry and the flavor of a hard candy, while making it look someone unique, which takes more concentration then a straight copy, that and its also not something in front of her to make a direct copy, but something she has to recall from memory meaning more concentration to get the details correct, then once she has the initial prototype correct, then she just has to make direct copies of that onto the bushes in a semi-random arrangement, but it’s the original that takes work to make correctly, and it had only taken her three tries to get how she wanted it.
There were also two trees that stood next to each other, not much taller then Nekodra’s 4’11” tall frame. They were mostly typical pine trees, but with red and green pine cones, cause she might as well have fun, and it tis the season. Then there was a weeping willow, with abnormal flowers with centers that blink with alternating purple and blue like Christmas lights, which matched the colors of the strange flowers, which sat at the edge of a small pond that took up one of the corners to the dome. The four walls of the dome were each 8 feet in length, and 8 feet tall.
Nekodra figured, start off simple, I can’t expect anything too challenging. When she has never hunted anything before, so level one, a small enclosed area, 3 bunnies for invalid targets that result in failure and 1 deer which results in success, all four made to be the same size.
She paused; crouching in her right hand was a ball of fire about the size of a baseball, which she had been idling playing with as a yo-yo until she paused at the rustle from a bush up ahead.
This flame yo-yo was her first incarnation of being able to use fire, though now that she is more advanced with her usage of flames, once the ball hits something, she can have it morph, to say wrap them in flames like a rope and drag them back to her, or flick it back and forth and just bop them repeatedly, or actually catch them on fire, which no longer happens on accident, or at least not nearly as often and it takes a lot more to break her concentration now.
She watched, silently and holding her breath, the bush just a few feet in front of her, something had nestled inside of it, but the leaves were too thick to see, and she wasn’t going to cheat by simply removing the leaves of her self created bush, what fun with that be. No, she would inch closer, see if she can startle it out of the bush and into the open. She side stepped, in hopes to drive the bunny or deer into a clearing in the grass that was on one side of the bush. Her hand raised slightly ready to flick the fiery yo-yo. She neared the bush, once she was half a foot away, she leaped closer, landing with a small thud as both her boots hit the ground with the weight of her body behind them.
The creature leaped from the no longer safety of the bushes but not into the clearing, and it was in the shadow of the bush making its color hard to determine. Nekodra hesitated and with a second of doubt, the creature had darted off and she lost track of it in tall grass, cursing, she stood up straight and took in a sweeping glance around her.
            Silence.
“Damn, I wonder if they lost energy and can’t move anymore.”  She looked around again, “Or maybe they are napping...” She cursed again, and plopped down, plucking a few berries from the bush. “I’ll take a break too then.” Popping the first berry into her mouth, relishing the sour taste as her lips puckered involuntarily. She was picking up another berry from her cupped palm, when the deer popped its head out from around another bush and bounced forward, nabbing the berry from her fingers, spilling juice it can’t actually eat down its plush mouth as it pretended to chew the berry.
She couldn’t help but burst into giggles, “So much for being a hunter.” She chuckled picking up the soft deer, which stretched its neck out and nabbed another berry from her palm as it past by. “Rawr! I am a hunter, you should run from me.” She brought the deer to eye level, with a mock glare, which the deer proceeded to tilt its head at her question as it chewed on another berry, the juice dripping off its chin and onto her pants.
She wanted to face palm, so much for an attempt at hunting. She set the deer back down and held out another berry to it. Well might as well enjoy the Ethereal feeling of this little enclosed area for a while longer before I take it down. She stretched out her legs and leaned back, using her hands as a pillow and started up at the sky, watching the clouds slowly shift when one of the bunnies landed on her chest. She tilted her head at the bunny on her, as another appeared pulling her hair mistaking it for food it could pretend to eat, with a sigh she spoke to the bunny on her chest. “I am supposed to be the huntsmen, not Snow White…” It tilted its head, and bounced off disappearing into a bush.

Afterword

Lol, this was fun. I toyed with the idea of it being a bunny and her mistakenly spilling its fluffy insides, but then I decided naw, she will be unsure and end up not attacking it, then having her take a short break, and then it hit me. How funny would it be for the deer to just end up walking up to her and stealing a berry? Answer hilarious! I rather like the outcome of this story, its fun and what I hope was an unexpected ending.

So I have decided in honor, of the WOTDS with the 14 words and how fun it was to try to get so many words to fit into one story, that from now on I will do 7 words per story. While 14 its twice as good as 7, 7 its a bit better to work with, because some days have crappy words to work with, and then between the 12 apps for words of the day, it gives a decent range to pick from, while still having to use most of them.

But yeah, that was fun, I hope you found it amusing too. And this story is diffidently cannon to the world of Dreaming Reality (Which is the novel I am working on that Nekodra is from.) Though later on in the series that will be Dreaming Reality, but cannon none the less. And I like this, doing these WOTDS and having them involve Nekodra I think is going to help me get more done with that novel. It gives me little one shots that I can plug into the story line. *Claps* This makes me really happy. Dreaming Reality is my little pride and joy, that really hasn't been written at all, but I want to, and I mean to, but I never end up doing it, and this is at least getting stuff written down and it makes me soooo happy. *bounces excitedly* Super Happy! in fact I makes me want to work on the beginnings of Dreaming Reality. See this little shot of a story would take place....oh roughly 7 or so years from where the story will start.

So I hope you enjoyed that, I am off to work on the beginnings of Dreaming Reality, see you next post. Here are the side notes and then I am off:
